HOW REPACK AND THAW WORKS

The repack and thaw process follows a carefully controlled sequence from frozen storage through to dispatch-ready product.

Your stock is held in frozen warehousing until it’s needed. When a repacking job is scheduled, the product moves into temperature-controlled thaw rooms where it’s brought to the target temperature under monitored conditions. Once thawing is complete, our quality team inspects and signs off before the product moves to the repack line.

On the repack line, product is repackaged into the format your retailer requires: retail-ready packs, promotional bundles, display units, variety packs or seasonal kits. Relabelling, date coding and barcode application happen at the same stage. Finished product moves directly to dispatch or back into storage, depending on your order schedule.

The entire sequence happens within one facility. There are no truck movements between a warehouse and a separate repacking site, which means fewer delays, lower costs and unbroken temperature control from start to finish.

Every stage of the repacking process is documented and traceable. From the batch that entered the thaw room to the retail unit that left the repack line, we maintain records your retailers and regulators can audit.

Pakval’s facilities operate under HACCP, SQF and WQA certification. Repackaging food products for resale requires the same food-grade handling, temperature control and compliance documentation as warehousing. We apply the same standards across both, because they run from the same operation.

If a product recall requires lot-level traceability through the repacking process, we can trace it. Batch records, temperature logs, QA sign-off records and packaging materials are all documented per job.

Repacking and thaw is an integrated part of Pakval’s broader logistics operation. Your product is already in our warehouse. After repacking, it can move directly to dispatch for delivery or return to storage for later orders.
